EFB-Elektronik expands product portfolio: All MTP®/MPO components in smallest form factor

Constant availability of the products guaranteed

Bielefeld, February 18, 2021 – EFB Elektronik GmbH is launching new MTP®/MPO components on the market with the 3U and 1U subracks, thus completing its product range for fiber optic networks. With the expansion of the portfolio, EFB-Elektronik now covers the entire MTP® range, from cables and connectors to transceivers, patch panels and couplers. The entire product range is based on the SFF (Small Form Factor) design. This achieves a packing density that is incomparable to any other connector on the market.

New flexibility with MTP or splice variants

The new subracks and cassettes have an internal receptacle for splicing: this gives users greater flexibility in installation, and MTP®/MPO-free installations are also possible. All MTP®/MPO components are particularly suitable for use in data centers and are now available from stock, enabling EFB-Elektronik to supply as required.

"We offer our customers complete systems or individual modules that can be combined both actively and passively," said Jan Behrend, product manager in the fiber/copper cabling division at EFB-Elektronik. In addition, all products can also be combined with other programs from EFB-Elektronik, for example with the copper program: "This offers great advantages for new customers, but especially also for our existing customers," says Behrend.

Data transmission via fiber optics

MTP®/MPO stands for Mulitpath Push-On / Multifiber Termination Push-On: The technology enables the highest possible transmission speeds, which are particularly interesting for data centers. "The Internet of Things, AI and Big Data require ever higher performance in data transmission," says Behrend. "With the help of our MTP®/MPO components, data centers can achieve standard transmission rates in the smallest possible footprint." The MTP®/MPO connectors feature an MT ferrule designed for multi-fiber accommodation: four to 144 fibers can be accommodated in just one connector, enabling the smallest of designs.

High performance in the smallest space

Network managers can find an overview of the MTP®/MPO products on the EFB-Elektronik Website. In addition, the experts provide insights and advice on proper use, sensible cabling and combinations.
