Product information for Mode Conditioning cable ST Duplex onto LC 62,5/125µ + LC 9/125µ,3m
These specially designed patch cables have a single-mode cable spliced to a multimode patch cable with a definded core excentricity.
This has the effect that the laser spot is not focused on to the DMD-susceptible core centre, but onto the DMD-insensitive core edge area of the Multimode fiber.
Mode-Conditioning jumper are used at both ends of the fiber optical link. The singlemode end of the first jumper ist connected with the transwith port (TX) at the begin
and the second singlemode end with the transwith port (TX) at the end of the link.
Application is to optimize multimode links and extend the length-restriction for Gigabit Ethernet 1000BaseLX (1300nm).
In the window „850nm“ singlemode fibers are undefined, so Mode-Conditioning is not possible for Ethernet protocol 1000BaseSX.
IEEE802.3z Gigabit Ethernet 1000BaseLX
Allows full Gigabit Ethernet link distance
Reduces Differential Mode Delay (DMD)
Low insertion loss
Usable for patching active components to the passive network instead of standard duplex jumpers
